Terms of service

In short

These terms set out the agreement between you and DudzikSpeed when you register, book and move belongings on our monthly corridor. Please read them before you pay. By registering you accept these terms.

Before go-live

These terms are being finalised with our advisers ahead of launch. The contracting company, insurer and governing-law details are shown on our licensing and insurance page and completed before the service goes live.

The service

DudzikSpeed runs a guaranteed monthly transport corridor. Outbound, we collect personal effects from any mainland UK or Northern Ireland postcode and deliver to Kraków, Stary Sącz and, by onward arrangement, across Poland. On the return leg we collect in Poland and deliver to Ireland via Roscoff and Dublin. We carry household goods and personal effects, not commercial freight, hazardous goods or prohibited items.

Registration and the £99

To start a move you register and pay £99. This covers a strong double-wall packing kit and its delivery to you. It is a one-off charge and is non-refundable once we have dispatched or begun preparing your kit, because it pays for goods and a service supplied at your request.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance contract. Because the kit is prepared and dispatched for you, where you ask us to begin within that period you acknowledge that your right to cancel ends once the kit has been dispatched, and that any refund before dispatch may be reduced by costs already incurred. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Pricing and the balance

Transport is priced by the mile: small box 5p per mile, medium box 10p per mile, large box 15p per mile, and furniture or large items 25p per cubic metre per mile. The distance is calculated between your collection and delivery points.

The price shown by the calculator before you pack is an estimate. Once your final box count and item list are known we confirm the price. You pay the balance to secure a collection and delivery slot. We do not hold a slot until the balance is paid.

Collection and delivery

We confirm your collection and delivery window after the balance is paid. We do not promise a specific date before that point, so that the date we give you is one we can keep. You, or someone you authorise, must be present to release and receive the goods and to sign for them. Please make sure access, parking and any building rules at both ends are arranged.

What you must do

  • Pack securely using the kit and our packing guidance, and label your boxes.
  • Give us a complete and accurate inventory.
  • For outbound moves, provide the customs documents we ask for (passport or ID, inventory, proof of residence) and complete any Transfer of Residence steps. You are responsible for the accuracy of customs information and for any duties or taxes that fall due.
  • Not pack prohibited, hazardous, perishable or illegal items, cash, jewellery or documents of unusual value.

Liability and insurance

We carry your goods under goods-in-transit insurance; the insurer and the level of cover are stated on our licensing page. Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the terms of that cover. We are not liable for items you have not declared, for inherent faults, for items you packed where the packing was the cause, or for delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including weather, ferry disruption, customs or border delays). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Claims

If something is lost or damaged, tell us in writing within a reasonable time of delivery, with photographs and a description, so we can investigate and, where appropriate, claim under the goods-in-transit cover. Keep the item and its packaging until the claim is resolved.

Cancellation and changes

You can cancel before the balance is paid; the £99 is treated as set out above. If you need to change dates or details, contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you on a future run.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law stated on our licensing page, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
