What to expect on your international moving day
On your international moving day with DudzikSpeed, we collect your packed boxes door-to-door from your UK or Northern Ireland address and put them onto the monthly corridor run to Poland. You get a confirmed collection window first, but only once your final box count is known and the balance is paid, so the date you are given is one that holds. From there your goods travel to our Kraków and Stary Sącz hubs and on to your Polish address, and we keep you posted at each step.
Before the day: how your collection date is confirmed
The most important thing to understand about an international moving day is when the date becomes real. With DudzikSpeed it becomes real in one step: when your final box count is known and the balance is paid.
Here is the order. You register for £99, which is non-refundable and includes a strong double-wall packing kit delivered to you. You pack at your own pace into that kit. When you know exactly how many small, medium and large boxes you have, plus any furniture or large items, you tell us, and the calculator prices the move by the mile. You pay the balance, and only then do we lock a collection window against the next monthly corridor run.
We work this way on purpose. The corridor runs once every month, so there is a real, planned slot to attach your move to. We do not give you a date we might have to move later. Once the balance is in, the collection window is yours and the matching delivery window is set with it. If you want to sanity-check the cost before you commit, our guide on how much it costs to move to Poland walks through the pricing with worked examples.
In the days before collection, make sure your customs documents are uploaded to your account. That is your passport or ID, an inventory of what you are sending, and proof of residence. Getting them in early means nothing holds up the load on the day.
On the day: the door collection
On your confirmed day, the crew comes to your door. Because you have packed into the kit ahead of time, a box-only move is usually a calm, fairly quick handover rather than a long packing session at your address.
What happens, step by step:
- The crew checks your boxes against the inventory you uploaded, so what leaves matches what you have declared for customs.
- Boxes are loaded and secured for a long road journey across Europe.
- If you are sending furniture or large items, those are protected and loaded with more care, which takes a little longer.
- You get confirmation that your goods are on the run and on their way.
We collect door-to-door from any mainland UK postcode and any Northern Ireland (BT) postcode. The day looks the same whether you are in London, Manchester or Belfast: same monthly corridor, same by-the-mile pricing.
Someone needs to be at the address to release the goods and confirm the inventory, but it does not have to be you personally. If a relative or friend is handing over on your behalf, let us know beforehand through your account or by emailing hello@dudzikspeed.com. If your plans have shifted and you are sending more or fewer boxes than first counted, tell us before the day so the quote and the load match. The £99 registration is yours either way, even if your plans change.
The run, the hubs and delivery in Poland
Once your boxes are collected, they join the monthly corridor run and travel by road to our two hubs in southern Poland: Kraków and Stary Sącz.
If your address is in one of those two cities, we deliver straight to your door. If it is anywhere else in Poland, we arrange onward delivery from the nearer hub, so a move to Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdańsk or a smaller town still travels on this same corridor and stays on the same booking from your UK door to your Polish address.
We stay in touch through the journey. As your goods near the destination we agree a delivery window with you rather than arriving unannounced. You can reach us at any point on email, the on-site chat or WhatsApp, and our team works in English, Polish, German and French, which helps when family at either end speaks a different language.
A note on the return direction, if it applies to you. The corridor also runs back from Poland, through Germany and France to Roscoff and then by direct ferry to Dublin. That return leg stays entirely inside the EU free-movement zone, so it needs no customs documents. The outbound move to Poland is the one that needs paperwork, and our customs documents guide covers exactly what to upload and how Transfer of Residence relief works.
Moving day questions
When will I know my exact collection date for moving to Poland?
You get a confirmed collection window once you have told us your final box count and paid the balance. We set the date against the next monthly corridor run, not before, so the date is one we can actually keep. Until the balance is paid the run is not yet booked to your address.
How long does the collection itself take on moving day?
It varies with how much you are sending, but a box-only collection is usually quick because everything is already packed into the kit we delivered. The crew checks the load against your inventory, secures it, and gives you confirmation that your goods are on the run. Furniture and large items take a little longer to load and protect.
Do I need to be there in person when you collect?
Someone needs to be at the address to hand over the boxes and confirm the inventory. It does not have to be you specifically. If a relative or friend is releasing the goods on your behalf, tell us in advance through your account or by emailing hello@dudzikspeed.com so the crew knows who to expect.
How long does the journey from the UK to Poland take?
Your goods leave on the monthly corridor run and travel by road to our Kraków and Stary Sącz hubs, then on to your address. The exact transit time depends on your destination and whether it is one of the two hubs or needs onward delivery. We give you the expected delivery window when we confirm your collection.
What happens to my boxes after they reach Poland?
If your address is in Kraków or Stary Sącz we deliver straight to the door. If it is elsewhere in Poland we arrange onward delivery from the nearer hub. Either way your goods stay on the same booking from your UK door to your Polish address, and you are kept informed as delivery is arranged.
Will you tell me before you arrive on delivery day?
Yes. We are in touch as your goods near the destination and arrange a delivery window with you rather than turning up unannounced. You can reach us throughout on email, the on-site chat or WhatsApp, in English, Polish, German or French.
